Guitar Solos

Those who know me really well know that I really enjoy music. More specifically, I enjoy what is now considered "classic rock". A little Michelle history lesson now: i grew up in a household that was constantly with music playing in the background. I mean, music was playing ALL the time. It was playing when we ate, when we argued, when we played with our toys and i have one really clear specific memory of "Bohemian Rhapsody" playing in the background while we folded our laundry. I mean all the time. I am and will forever be eternally grateful to my parents for their musical influence. We grew up listening to heavy metal and "classic rock". Another specific memory was of us taking a long trip somewhere and my parents playing to us "Magical Mystery Tour" to quiet us down on the long ride. Our imaginations flowed with visions of a "fool on a hill" and gorgeous "strawberry fields". I was named after a Beatles song, for goodness sake!

So on this note, i also wanted to mention that I am a big fan of guitar solos. Guitar solos, to me, are the back bone of a true classic rock song. There are many who seem to incorporate a solo in songs because they feel it will make the song better or will enhance or add to the groove or feel of the song. It most cases it does make the song a hell of alot better. Take for example Ozzy Osbourne's "
No More Tears". Ok come on lets be honest. The lyrics aren't exactly genius, but Zakk Wylde's guitar solo is positively orgasmic. Every time i hear it, i wanna grind the first person i see. Note to Adam: Don't be in the car with me when that song comes on, unless you want me to hump your leg.

So i wanted to list, according to
Guitar World Magazine, just the top 10 best guitar solos of all time out of the top 100 greatest guitar solos. Its pretty presumptuous for them to take on the task of naming the absolute best solos of all time, but i think they did a pretty damn good job.

note: I'm also inserting links to the youtube videos of the actual song and solos being played. Just click on the name of the song. Enjoy.

Beyonce falls... so does my heart

i hate celebrities sometimes. One of the most spectacular "artists" of or time takes a nasty stumble while performing and they cut it off the youtube.com website because of "copyright infringements".

when really we all know that she moaned and cried about it. and i know that because you can't see it in this clip but she asked the audience not to specifically post it on youtube.com

thats bull crap. so i searched high and low for this precious clip and finally found it on some obscure website for hip hop music. i enjoyed it and so should you

on beyonce's defense, she continued and pressed onward like a champ. Bless her heart

Jabba the Blog?

ok so i decided to get in on this blog thing. although i have already been creating blogs through myspace, i felt this was a better layout and allowed me to express myself a little freely and with no restrictions. not that myspace is the most restricting anyways.

i guess the thought for today is: thank God for spell check.
