Running Shoes

A new wallet (just in case I need a place to stash all my imaginary money)

a new desk

A new queen size bed (mmmm i need a new bed!)

This little beauty

Jessica Peterson

I just wanted to put in a little plug for my girl Jessica Peterson. She is an AMAZING photographer with a definite eye for capturing the beauty in all things :)

Here is a little sample of some of my favorites! Jess I hope you don't mind.

also here is her website. Please check it out by clicking on the link below

If you're interested in her photographing you or someone else for anything, email her :)

I like hamburgers and hot dogs too

So I've experienced recent sort of heartbreak and on top of that, I ended school so I have nothing to keep me busy whilst I experience this "heartbreak" and I got pretty sick. So what have I been doing to keep me sane. Well besides watching four Robert Zemeckis films (Who framed Roger Rabbit?, Back to the Future 1 and 2 and Forrest Gump) , watching the Departed, Shawshank Redemption, the Secret Life of Bees, Penelope, and Apocalypse Now!, I've been entertaining myself with something that my friend Nate Fackrell introduced me to a couple weeks ago: Tim and Eric Awesome Show! Great Job! If you have never heard of it, which apparently alot of people have, you need to check it out.

I'll share with all some of my favorite clips. Now disclaimer: this is definitely an acquired taste. sometimes it takes 2 or 3 viewings to laugh or get the humor. I loved it immediately, some people just never like it. But i think its pretty awese.

What the hell is going on?

This is pretty much the question that people keep asking me lately.

Well here is the short and skinny of it: I'm in school and working full time.

Fine! I'll elaborate: I'm currently attending full time (at night, mind you) Glendale Community College trying to graduate in a year then transfer to either UCLA or one of the cal-states (L.A. or CSUN). I'm working Monday-Thursdays at the dental office, BUT i do have Fridays off. so if you want to chill, grab some lunch or something, lemme know.

I'm working towards doing something in advertising. Something more on the creative, fun side. I'm tired of boring jobs.

I'm dating... yes Mom.. I'm dating :) not exclusively, but I go on dates.

I'm seeing my family way more often and I LOVE that! I'm becoming closer to my mom particularly.

I've broken toxic ties with certain individuals (or in some cases they have broken ties with me) and I have come out on top, I'd like to think! A word to the wise or those hanging out with certain individuals: be careful with whom you hang out with. When they break your heart, i will accept you with open hearts after an apology... because i know i wasn't right the whole time, but they and you to an extent were wrong also. I hope you know who you are. Get out before you get hurt!
I have people that I call best friends and I decided that I've used that term too loosely in the past so I really narrowed it down to a few individuals... these are people that have NEVER given me problems, whom i respect and respect me even when I'm a bitch or they are being bitches: Heidi Jo, Nate Fackrell, Andrew Stames, Esther Thompson and Brian Hill.
These individuals don't cry when i don't invite them to things, they are considerate, kind, honest (even when truth hurts), they are cool nerds (oxy-moron, i know) and they have their priorities straight.

I write for Geektyrant.com and will be doing it a little more often. All i do is write movie reviews. Its pretty swell :)

I've grown up... ALOT! I think its because I've had lots of time to step back and evaluate myself and try to better myself. I've learned from mistakes... the hard way. I feel sorry and bad for them. I'm trying to be a better person... I promise! I'm focusing on me now and moving on. I can't do what I've been doing forever (that has so many meaning behind it)

i love all my friends, close and good friends ( ya know who you are, becky and kelly and emily blisses etc.)

Thats whats going on right now.

My top 10 films of 2008

I know. I know. It's kinda late. But i just watched "the wrestler" and I wanted to watch it before I made a decision. I still have yet to see "Waltz with Bashir", but Heidi has it on DVD so I'll watch it later and I'm sure its really good, but I couldn't wait to write up my top 10 of last year.

#1. Milk.

It was moving, inspiring, the acting was phenomenal, it was raw and gritty and the movie just all around has great written all over it.

#2. Dark Knight.

Come on. Do you hav
e to question why? I was watching the blu-ray just tonite and its so cool. It goes through the different action sequences and dissects them and explains how C. Nolan did it. Theres a cool one on the IMAX version of the beginning heist sequence. Heath Ledger was awesome as the Joker and i loved Gary Oldman and Christian Bale. The actions scenes were awese and some of the shots were breathtaking.

#3. The Curious Case of Benjamin Button.

Before I watched it, everyone complained that it was so long, but damn it was well worth the sit. It was gorgeous! I enjoyed the acting of both main actors and the cinematography was beautiful. The story itself was so great.

#4. Doubt.

Here's the thing: you put an amazing cast together and you really can't go wrong. The stand out bein
g Meryl Streep as an angry no nonsense nun. The story was intriguing and never boring.

#5. Slumdog Millionaire.

I heard all the buzz about it. Went in with high expectations and came ou
t totally satisfied. It was your typical underdog story and it just builds up to this great emotional fantastic finale. It was touching and inspiring. (you'll notice with alot of films that I watch I want to be affected in some way, but when it inspires me, you know I will like it)

#6. Wall-E.

See, Heidi. I did like it enough to put it on here. It was full of positive, Al gore-like messages. I like Al Gore. It was touching, made a great impression, cute. Its definitely the kind of thing that needed to be portrayed on film, especially in animated form to reach out and make an impression on the little ones. Pixar honestly never disappoints and i really enjoyed the "presto" short in the beginning.

#7. Frost/Nixon.

I went into the movie thinking it was gonna be boring but turned out to be one of the more entertaining movies I saw this year. It was captivating and pretty edge of your seat. The acting from
both Michael Sheen and Frank Langella was superb and honest.

#8. Tropic Thunder.

Two words: To
m Cruise. He is on a roll. Still haven't seen Valkyrie, but from what I hear, its pretty good. But he was so great in Tropic Thunder. Also you can't forget to mention Robert Downey Jr. as a black guy. Sheer genius! The movie was just hilarious from beginning to end and that's what I wanted going in so it didn't disappoint.

#9. The Wrestler

SO raw. I would almost go as far as calling it a beautiful film. Mickey Rourke will definitely get an oscar nod for this. It was gritty, emotional, sometimes hard to watch, but it was amazing.

#10. Burn After Reading

This movie was only two kinds of emotions for me: sad and funny. It's comparable to Fargo as far as the other Coen films, not as great, but still a pretty good dark DARK comedy. Brad Pitt was hilarious and Frances McDormand was stellar.

Honorable mention: Iron Man.

I ashamed to say I watched Hellboy 2 twice in the movie theatre. Ok I mean it wasn't that bad but I know I will get crap from everyone because I watched it twice. Still I enjoyed it. Hey what can I say, sometimes I enjoy a little bit of mindless entertainment... I do hang out with Andrew and Nate.... HAHA!
